In Swahili, Nia means "with purpose." It is a form of movement that works with the body's natural wisdom and intelligence to create joy and energy. You'll integrate your body and spirit as you flow naturally into the movement of the music. Nia combines Eastern and Western traditions of movement including modern dance, jazz, yoga, martial arts and tai chi. Developed by Debbie and Carlos Rosas, Nia is a form of min/body exercise which expresses your spirit and reaches your soul while providing a full body workout. All areas of the body work together in concert with the mind. NIA was developed to follow the body's ability to know pain versus pleasure. This joyful dance form allows you to listen to and move your body in a way that avoids injury and allows healing.
Physical, mental emotional and spiritual well-being and self-love result from addressing and respecting the whold self. Classes are included in membership and are taught by NIA certified instructors.
